Frequency Slack Assistant

The Frequency Slack Assistant brings the podcast and audio show catalog directly into your Slack workspace. Built specifically for ad sellers, it lets you search for shows, size audiences, check reach and pricing metrics, and build collections for client pitches using plain English—without ever leaving your Slack threads.

How to Talk to the Assistant

The assistant is thread-aware, meaning it remembers what you were talking about in the active conversation thread. You can interact with it in two ways:

  • Direct Message (1:1 Chat): Search for Frequency under the Apps section in your Slack sidebar. Open a DM and type your request. No @ mentions are needed here—every message is a continuous conversation.
  • Public Channels & Group Chats: Mention @Frequency followed by your question in any channel or thread (for example, @Frequency find true-crime shows). The assistant will perform the lookup and reply in a thread to keep the main channel conversation tidy.

[!TIP] To clear the assistant’s memory and start a completely new topic, simply type clear or reset in your message.

Connecting Your Account

To ensure you only see the shows, organizations, and collections you have access to, the assistant automatically links with your Frequency user account. Once your company administrator links your Slack workspace to Frequency, the assistant resolves your identity by matching your Slack email address.

For this auto-linking to work, your Slack user email address must be identical to the email address used for your Frequency account.

Rich Interactive Cards

Instead of replying with walls of text, the assistant formats information into clean, interactive Slack cards:

  • Show Detail Cards: Displays a podcast’s key metrics (downloads, CPM, budget minimums), description, and quick action buttons.

  • Grouped Show Lists: Summarizes your show search results grouped by category. Follow-up filters (like CPM limits) update the same card in-place to keep your channel clean.

  • Collection Insights: Displays a dashboard summarizing a collection’s footprint, category mix, and capability breakdown.

  • Activity Feeds: Shows a visual history timeline of recent edits or updates made by team members.
