Getting started
Your first ten minutes in Catalog. This page walks through signing in, finding your way around, and the first thing most users actually want to do — open a list of shows.
What you need first
- A Frequency account at
accounts.frequency.media. If you don’t have one, your admin or the person who shared a collection with you should invite you. - One of the supported system roles: Standard, Employee, or Admin. New accounts start as Guest and land on a “Pending access” page until an admin grants a role.
1. Sign in
Open catalog.frequency.media. If you aren’t signed in yet, you’ll be sent to the accounts app to authenticate, then bounced back. You can use either Google sign-on or email + password — both result in the same Frequency session.
Sign-in screen on accounts.frequency.media.
Show the Google button and the email/password form. The Frequency logo is in the top left.

2. Land on the home grid
Once signed in, Catalog opens to the shows grid for whatever workspace it remembers from your last session. First-time users land on the first org they belong to.
Catalog home — the shows grid with the left navigation.
Highlight the org switcher in the header, the navigation sidebar, and the data grid.

The three things to orient yourself with:
- Org switcher in the top bar — selects which organization’s inventory you’re looking at. See the Workspaces guide.
- Left sidebar — Collections, Recently Visited, Favorites, and (for admins) the Admin section.
- Shows grid — the spreadsheet-like view of every show in scope.
3. Open a show
Click any row in the grid to open the show detail modal. This is your read-only deep-dive: audience, hosts, RSS feed, ad capabilities, view-tracking, and a history tab.

Show audience metrics, categories chips, host info, and the tabs at the top (Overview / History).

Close the modal with the X in the top right, the Esc key, or by clicking outside it.
4. Build your first collection
Catalog’s main job is grouping shows into collections you can share, present, or act on.
- Select one or more rows with the row-start checkboxes.
- The floating action bar appears at the bottom — click Add to Collection.
- Pick an existing collection or + New collection.

5. Open the command palette
Press ⌘ K (macOS) or Ctrl K (Windows / Linux) anywhere in the app. The Spotlight palette lets you jump to any collection, show, or action without using the mouse.

What’s next
Sort, filter, hide columns, copy-paste to Excel.
Folders, scopes, duplicate, share, transfer.
Chat your way through the catalog with tool-use.
View or edit permissions, pending shares, revoke.
Troubleshooting
- “Pending access” page — your account exists but no role has been granted yet. Email
support@frequency.mediaor your platform admin. - Signed in to accounts but Catalog still asks — clear cookies for
*.frequency.mediaand try again. All apps share the auth cookie under the parent domain. - Empty grid — check that the org switcher is pointed at the workspace you expect. New orgs start with zero shows until they’re imported.
